Ωστόσο εφέτος - Μάης, Ιούνης - άνθησε από μόνος του και πάλι,

λαμπάδιασε όλος ως τα κάγκελα, -χίλια τριαντάφυλλα,

χίλια γαρύφαλλα, χίλια γεράνια, χίλια μοσχομπίζελα- μενεξελί,

πορτοκαλί, πράσινο, κόκκινο και κίτρινο, χρώματα - χρώματα - φτερά -

τόσο που πρόβαλε ξανά η γυναίκα με το παλιό της ποτιστήρι να ποτίσει

- ωραία και πάλι και γαλήνια, με μια αόριστη καλή πεποίθηση.

Κι ο κήπος την έκρυψε ως τους ώμους, την αγκάλιασε,

την κέρδισε όλη, τη σήκωσε στα χέρια του.

Κι είδαμε τότε, μέρα-μεσημέρι, που ο κήπος κι η γυναίκα με το ποτιστήρι

αναληφθήκαν - κι όπως κοιτούσαμε ψηλά,

κάτι σταγόνες απ' αυτό το ποτιστήρι έπεσαν ήσυχα στα μάγουλά μας,

στο πηγούνι μας, στα χείλη.
